During our recent visit to Zambia, Africa we had a chance to sit down and talk with Brent and Kerri Roberts and Luke and Elise Whitfield, the missionaries heading ELEEO, about how God is moving through their ministry. ELEEO provides faith-based outreach to the Tonga.

This past November, we worked with our staff (5 different families) to plant 10 demonstration plots of maize using the principles of Foundations.

Initially, we released a case statement asking for funding for a community center for the people of Vumilia Village. During the visit to the village in May that idea was put on hold. Here is an update from one of our team members whom is.

Naomi’s Village sits on a 5-acre plot in Maai Mahiu, Kenya.  A single large home (9,000 sq. ft., 2-stories) allows Naomi’s Village to house 110 children, while still leaving much land to spare. The remaining lot is being used in other ways, so that Naomi’s.

Luke, Elise, Macie (9), Emma (8), Payton (6), Chichi (5) and Tazi (3) have served as missionaries in Zambia since February 2007. Brent & Kerri met at First Baptist Church college ministry in 1997.  At the time, Kerri was attending Columbia College pursuing a degree in Vocal Performance and Brent was attending the University of South Carolina pursuing a degree in Information Systems.  In 1999, during their last semester of college, the two were married by their friend and pastor Brad Bird.

ELEEO Project currently has two missionary families serving in Chikankata, Zambia – The Roberts & The Whitfields.  Brent Roberts & Luke Whtifield originally met in 1995 while serving on a missions team to Kiserian, Kenya.  While they didn’t communicate over the years, God saw fit.
