Why does something as easy as believing taken so much time for me to do? As I ask myself this question while thinking of the Israelites in the desert living their own vision and not God’s. I realize that I needed to look at myself and ask, ‘’How many years have you been in the desert?’’ I spent a large portion of my life with a vision of “what if’s”, “why me” and no vision of something bigger than myself. I have read many times,
So Jesus said to them, ‘’Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 NIV
What if I just believe with all my heart? I knew it was time to move the mountain. The mountain that I had walked up to many times, the one that had a home in my heart and start believing that God’s word is the truth. All I have to do is believe and God does the rest. I truly believed at one point in my life that God could not use me, that I was not smart enough, pretty enough or even spiritual enough but God told me something different.
I am thankful for a wise friend that encouraged me one day to read Psalms 37:5 and said, “All you have to do is trust Him, it is that simple, just trust.” I never equated my worries to my unbelief then I realized the root of my worrying was unbelief. Once I gained this understanding, I had to make a decision to choose unbelief or faith. Faith brings comfort in the midst of fear; but unbelief causes fear in the midst of everything.
‘’Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and He will act.’’ Psalms 37:5 ESV
So we encourage you to believe with all your heart, God is able to do whatever He promises. Start your day with gratitude by counting your blessing and receive from God what he has planned for your life.
