Flood damage at Naomi's Village, Kenya

Naomi’s Village is a children’s home and community development center in the Maai Mahiu area of Kenya that serves orphaned and vulnerable children. When the floodwaters rose, they threatened everything the community had built—classrooms, dormitories, gardens, and gathering spaces that had taken years of faithful investment to establish.

The damage was significant, but the response was immediate. Staff and community members worked tirelessly to protect the children and salvage what they could. In the aftermath, the focus shifted to rebuilding, and Empower Dreams donors stepped up to help fund the recovery effort. Your generosity provided critical resources for repairs, replacement supplies, and emergency provisions for the children.

Through it all, the children and staff of Naomi’s Village held fast to their faith. The flood was a setback, but it could not wash away the foundation of love and purpose upon which this community is built. Today, the village is recovering and the children continue to thrive, a living testimony to the resilience that comes from knowing they are deeply loved by God and by supporters like you around the world.
